The Drinking Guest

What We Collect

The Drinking Guest is a party game platform. We collect only the information you choose to provide while playing:

Player display names — the names you enter to join a game. Use whatever name you like; real names are not required.
Game session data — which players are in a game, which cards are drawn, and player scores during that session.

What We Don't Collect

We do not collect real names, email addresses, phone numbers, location data, or any other personally identifiable information from players.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to remember your player name and which game you are in, so you can rejoin if you close your browser.

How We Use Your Data

Player names and game scores are used only to run the game — displaying whose turn it is, showing leaderboards, and keeping the game state in sync across players. We do not sell, share, or publish any data.

Data Retention

Game session data is stored temporarily while the game is active and may be retained in the database afterward for leaderboard purposes. Player names and scores are tied to a game session only — they are not linked to a persistent user profile.
